Which Mounts Should I look at next?
As most of you know, I have been dutifully going through different mount types out there and keeping good notes.
I have a couple of new scopes to test: Leupold Mark 4HD 2.5-10x42 and PA PLxC 1-8x24 Nova.
Usually, if the manufacturers send me a scope with their mounts, I honor that and use their mounts.
In this case, PLxC came here without a mount.
Leupold came with two sets of 34mm Mark 4 rings in the box. I will most definitely find good use for them, but not with this scope, since it has a 30mm tube.
PLxC needs to go onto an AR, so I am looking for a reasonably light weight 30mm mount with no built-in slope.
Mark4HD will spend some time on an AR and some time on the Fix, so a similar mount is in order. I expect to spend some time using with a thermal clip-on that has a 1.54" height, so the mount needs to be of that approximate height as well.
With that in mind, what mounts would you like me to take a closer look at?
The only real requirement is that it has to be something I have not yet tested.
To date, going off the top of my head, I have looked at (and still have):
Aadmount (excellent, but no longer made)
Reptilia AUS (excellent) https://alnk.to/esW3tXO
Area 419 (excellent) https://alnk.to/4BFCyhV
Badger Unimount (very good, but seemingly discontinued)
Warne Precision (very good) https://alnk.to/ge5Di9N
Seekins/Vortex (excellent) https://alnk.to/4BFCykG
Era-tac adjustable (exotic and quite nice) https://alnk.to/dewKCky
Griffin SPRM (not great, soon to be divested) https://alnk.to/fHlmlLt
ARC M-Brace (nice mount in many ways, but likely to be replaced with another Area 419) https://alnk.to/3ngjGFp
Brownells AR (surprisingly decent; it is OEM'ed for several companies) https://alnk.to/eZGkqwu
SwampFox Freedom (surprisingly decent) https://alnk.to/cSHeEKa
PA GLx (not great) https://alnk.to/ge5DifH
PA PLx (very good) https://alnk.to/cwRIH7W
GG&G FLT (a little crude, but very workable) https://shrsl.com/4hknd
There are probably a few others I am not thinking of right now.
EDITED TO ADD:
There were many good suggestions. Some, I am sufficiently familiar with to not need to re-visit. Some have features/qualities that I consider to be inappropriate in a good quality mount, hence I do not want to spend time on them. After some consideration, I decided to try a couple of relatively affordable mounts: Sig Alpha2 (Wolfward's suggestion) and Daniel Defense (stumbled onto it by accident). With Daniel Defense, I recall seeing it at SHOT and not liking something. Unfortunately, I do not remember what I did not like, so might as well examine it more closely. Both are one piece cantilevered mounts well under $200 (Daniel Defense) and under $100 (Sig).
