Everyone once in a while I talk about flashlights. Lately, I have been really spending some time on flashlights and illuminators that do not take a ton of space on the handguard. Naturally, most of the ones I really like are really expensive, so I keep track of when there are discounts popping up.
This time PA seems to be selling single batter Surefire M340 for around $250. That's at least $50 less than I recall seeing in most places

For indoor use, I am not looking for the brightest possible thing. Spillback can be very troublesome. What I am looking for is "bright enough" with very good uniformity and compact size. I think this one is one day only.
Opticsplanet has Elcan Specter Dr for a bit over $1700 https://shrsl.com/3xrbs
That's a lot of money for a prismatic, but it is the best prismatic ever made for somewhere between $400 and $600 off depending on where you look.
Back to PA: they have their MD25 red dot with ACSS reticle for $120: https://bit.ly/3IBbPcq
If your plan is to put a magnifier behind a red dot, the ACSS reticle with its holdovers and chevron really shines. Without a magnifier, all those extra dots are just wishful thinking for me, but the chevron is nicely visible still. However, to me, the magnifier really brings this red dot into its own.
With magnifiers, I do not see any on a particular sale right now. If I were getting a compact magnifier right now, PA's SLx is quite nice https://bit.ly/3IBbPcq with this mount https://bit.ly/3k6w5cJ
During SHOT, they have the MD25 red dot set up with the new GLx 6x magnifier. It actually looked pretty nice, but I do not think GLx magnifier is officially available for order as of yet.
