Happy Labor Day, Y'all! and a new Raffle.
Well, the Labor Day is upon us. I will spare you my general thoughts on this holiday, given some of its socialist origins. It is still a nice day to grill a few steaks and enjoy a long weekend.
I added a few more notes to my somewhat limited agglomeration of Labor Day deals and many expire today: https://darklordofoptics.locals.com/post/7224686/labor-day-is-upon-us
Of all of the ones I have seen discounts on Tract Toric products https://tractoptics.com/toric-uhd-30mm-2-5-15x44-ffp-illuminated-mrad-eagleman-long-range-hunting-rifle-scope?ref=ILYAKOSHKIN,
Primary Arms' closeouts https://alnk.to/5Q7R6eK
and Anarchy Outdoors chassis discounts sorta stand out https://www.anarchyoutdoors.com/mdt-hnt26-chassis-system/?ref=fl0iza41 with the LABORDAY25 code.
On a separate topic, I went and listened to a little bit of my yesterday's livestream and it certainly looks like the video and audio are much smoother than what I had last week. Perhaps, one of those network changes did finally have an effect. Interestingly, after all of the troubleshooting with Xfinity, they suggested that I go swap the modem they provide for a newer version, because no matter what troubleshooting they did, they could not get the internet speed anywhere near the data rates that I am paying for. I will do so tomorrow and, hopefully, it will yield a further improvement. I do plan to do a another short livestream today using a different microphone. I have a suspicion that some of what I heard with the audio is simply a function of using bluetooth Airpods with a Windows computer. I'll try a wired microphone and a wireless DJI Mic 2 I have to compare.
As I was talking to the camera yesterday, I realized that the next DLO Live! Episode this coming Friday will be my 100th.
To commemorate that, I am going to raffle off the Swampfox Warhawk 2-10x44 riflescope I was testing for the MPVO comparison.
In terms of optical performance for the money, it is the best I have seen anywhere near its price. Combined with a very capable reticle, I think this scope deserves more credit than it gets. The downside is that there is no zero stop, but aside from that, there is very little to complain about. For SPR'ish use, I do not mind primarily relying on the reticle anyway.
The rules of the raffle are quite simple. You have to send me an email at [email protected] with the following information:
1) Your name
2) Your username in this darklordofoptics.locals.com community
That's it. You do not have to be a paying supporter. A free account is good enough this time. I do plan to do other raffles in the near future that will be for paid supporters only.
The only other condition is that you have to be present during the livestream to win.
