Burris XTR Pro Deal
One of the scopes I need to publish a final review on is Burris XTR Pro 5.5-30x56. I have talked about it quite a lot and it is my reference standard precision scope in the $2k range. I think they are doing a lot of good things with this design. Naturally, it does not hurt that it is built in the US.
I have been to Burris factory and I have seen it done.
The XTR Pro I have came with the SCR 1/4mil reticle.
As I am working on the wrap up for this scope, I went to check pricing and realized that they have it discounted to a bit under $2k, which is a very good deal. https://alnk.to/1C7sHm5
Then, I looked more carefully and realized that the version with the 0.2mrad based SCR2 Mil reticle is discounted even further to $1600. https://alnk.to/5Q5EeTB
That is an exceptional deal. There are several good long range precision scopes in the $1600 to $1800 range, but XTR Pro is comfortably better than all of those that I have seen. $1600 for a new XTR Pro is a steal.
Between SCR2 Mil and SCR2 1/4Mil, I have a slight preference for the former, but both work well and are easily among the better modern precision reticles out there.
For the masochists among us, there is also a Tremor 5 version discounted down to $1750: https://alnk.to/6xKGaoR
All three versions that are discounted appear to be in stock for the time being. If I were setting up a precision rifle right now, this is the best deal I am aware of at the moment by a solid margin.
Most impressively, the FOV is quite wide whil retianing good eyebox and image quality.
