I snuck out to the range again (you'll see that this is a recurring theme and I do this a lot). Recording another range day video did not work out since toward the end the wind picked up and made it impractical.
Before the wind went haywire, I did shoot a couple of groups with AAC ammo out of a different AR. This one also has a 16" barrel, but this one is carbon fiber wrapped Proof Research barrel.
Previously, I shot with a different barrel and the results are here: https://darklordofoptics.locals.com/post/5950955/quick-aac-ammo-update
I noted in the past that this Proof tube is a relatively fast barrel and it is definitely faster than the experimental Lunatech, despite being of the same length.
77gr AAC averaged 2651fps with 42fps spread and 13.3fps StDev.
75gr load averaged 2622fps with 50fps spread and 16.5fps StDev.
That's notably faster than the other barrel that was launching them at 2575 and 2558fps, respectively.
Group size was also a little better despite the trigger on this rifle being a little worse. I suppose it is just a more accurate barrel.
I had one flyer, but I called it before I even saw impact. The ammo itself has been relatively consistent.
1.2MOA 10 shot group out of an 8lbs gun with a somewhat unimpressive trigger (Hiperfire is decent, but not as good as my other triggers) is already respectable enough for my purposes.
I decided to put together a truly accurate AR, so the third accuracy test is going to be with that one. I have all of the components here, I think. I'll do some inventory and build it over the weekend.
