Every once in a while I talk about rifles from Fold AR. Usually it is a part of the discussion if there is a situation where I'd rather buy an AR than build one. Vast majority of the time, I prefer to build them myself, since that gives me an opportunity to get the configuration just right.
Some of the time, a manufacturer does offer something unusual. A good example of that is Q's Honeybadger that is just different enough, where I'd rather just get the whole thing.
Another such example is Fold AR. They make several AR variants that fold at the junction of the barrel and upper receiver. Having tried just about every possible takedown system ever created for AR pattern rifles, this is easily my favourite and the second place is not close.
I have one of their first generation rifles and in the several years and thousands of rounds of use it has not skipped a beat. Similarly importantly, the zero does not shift when you fold it for transportation. That's the rifle, for example, I took to the rained out class in Florida back in February. Because, the rifle folds down, it is easily my choice to travel for classes.

The downside, of course, is that they are not cheap, which gets us to the point of this post. I just checked my e-mail and it turns out they have some small number of blemished guns (these are usually just some cosmetic defects) at a pretty significant discount.

There is a total of four pistol variants and three rifle variants. The differences are only with barrel lengths and chamberings. These come in 300Blackout, 5.56 and 6.5Grendel.
The Grendel would make for a very nice packable travel hunting rifle.
Mine is a 5.56, so it is set up for plinking and taking AR classes. It is also a test bed for different AR scopes. After much experimentation, I shoved it into a very compact Pelican case, so it usually wears different prismatic optics with offset red dots or offset irons. At the moment, it has Element's Immersive 5x30 https://alnk.to/aWDti9e and offset XS XTI Sights https://alnk.to/8EJCxBi, but it has had a good number of different optics on it without skipping a beat.
The current generation has better handguards, interchangeable barrel system and adjustable gas block. At $1200 for a full blem rifle and $900 for an upper, it is a steal.
