One of the things that takes my time, but gives me an outlet of sorts is writing articles. When I started writing for Guns & Ammo's SIP, I also had to learn how to write with a word budget. That has not been easy. I do not have all that many virtues and brevity is most certainly not one of them. Most of the things I write for Guns & Ammo are available in a paper magazine only. However, every once in a while they also use my articles on their website. Unfortunately, unless I remember to go check, I never quite know which ones.
I went and checked and a couple more of the fairly recent ones are there.
One is on the Spartan Precision's method of attaching tripods and bipods to rifles and optics: https://www.rifleshootermag.com/editorial/spartan-precision-equipment-hunting-tripod/474497
It is timely since I am in the process of re-visiting another Spartan Precision's Gen2 Ascent tripod. It is not cheap, but it is quite possible the best built tripod I have seen to date and I really like their magnetic attachment method. It is likely going to accompany me on a pronghorn hunt later this year. The Ascent tripod I have is the taller Woodland version. Midway carries the entire line of Spartan's products or close to it: https://sovrn.co/zciiss2
The other recent article that made it to the website is the one on the Obrez. Unusually for me, it has nothing to do with optics. https://www.handgunsmag.com/editorial/obrez-mosin-pistol/466694
The interesting aspect of the story here is that ATF visited the shop that made the Obrez for me and informed them something was not done correctly and with that barrel length, the gun is illegal. They retrieved it back from me and set it up with a longer barrel. The craftsmanship is just as impeccable as beforehand. I'll take it out and see if it is still a flamethrower shortly. This time around, I'll go shoot it after dark and run a fast frame video as I pull the trigger.
