Here is an interesting video from Mr Gunsngear:
Glock is indeed getting into long guns.
It is not clear whether they are only going after military contracts or if we will see these in the civilian world in some shape as well.
The scope on the rifle in the video is interesting and very very good. It has not been announced, so I won't say what it is for the time being. Feel free to try to deduce what it is. I have seen it in a few pictures coming out of UK.
It appears that UK is sticking with 5.56 for the time being.
With US having formally adopted
So far, I am told all of the UK requirements are for 5.56
I'll be keeping an eye out to see is anything changes. Given that there is a major war happening in Europe (on the outskirts of it, but still in Europe), I doubt anyone is going to make any sudden moves that ould have some a significant effect on logistics. That brings me to something I have not really given much thought about: is Europe supplying Ukraine with small arms? The answer i slikely yes, but I wonder which ones. A couple of years ago, I remember seeing some reverberations that Ukraine was switching from AKs to ARs, but I doubt they had time to really do that.
Either way, Glock getting into long guns, after years of rumors, is sort of a big deal. I'll be keeping an eye on future developments.
