Next two weeks and other updates
I spent the last week at Vortex, which is always interesting and got home on Friday. I flew to Wisconsin while wearing a mask. Flew back without a mask.
Let's hope they do not manage to muzzle us again. My wife is heading over to Israel tomorrow to spend some time with her family and mourn her father's passing, so I will be home for two weeks straight keeping and eye on the kids and catching up on work and on writing. That is an unusually long period of time for me to spend at home. It came together this way for an unfortunate reason, but since I have the opportunity, there are a few things I would like to do. Most importantly is probably is the lecture on thermal and night vision devices that I have been promising for eons.
If all goes well, I'll schedule that for Wednesday, April 27th.
Another thing I need to do is catch up a bit on the whole Ukraine business. I have been following the events as the opportunities presented themselves, but not as closely as I liked. I'll talk to Eugene and see when he has time to join me. Perhaps we will shoot for Friday or the weekend.
For the week afterwards, I have a decision to make on whether I should do a follow up on thermals, or a final wrap up of the precision scopes I have been testing. I am leaning toward the latter, but if you have a preference, now is the time to voice it.
That's going to be largely it for livestreams on Youtube. I'll likely do a couple more here and release a couple of videos.
In the meantime, here are a couple of pieces that caught my attention.
One is from George Friedman (unsurprisingly) where he talks points out the rising influence of Poland and Turkey. I am by no means qualified to argue with him, but I think Poland's prominence in European politics is inversely related to German return into military power. It is either Germany or Poland. Not both.

Here is an interesting assessment of most recent of Russian activities in Ukraine. It sure looks like the are trying to keep a land bridge to Crimea at a minimum or join with breakaway Trans-Dniester Moldovan Republic and cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea. It will be interesting to see how it develops.
